OK OK, yes it has been at least 3 weeks since the last transmission of data from " Planet Howard". Bobby was under the weather for a few days, doing much better know. But it's Karen's turn, but not as bad as Bobby had it. Both at back to work at full throttle, although Karen is had a vacation day today. However she took the family shuttle in for some maintenance today, and rode the "CATS - LYNX" rail/bus system home. Bobby has been to his ball clinic's and is ready to get back on the diamond., they tried to get him to do basketball, - don't know enough about that game but may have to learn. The grand kids are all growing and doing new things everyday. We had a visit from Danny, Jackie, and Dane - he is a happy baby, and just makes everyone smile, even Bobby. Karen visited with Shana, Eli and Ben-his new thing is Cowboy boots, has to wear them everywhere. Mike calls from time to time - sounds as if he is still doing well. That's about it for now, hopefully updates will come sooner, will see.

Starting of the New Year 2009

OK well, for New Years Eve we went to Lowe's- the washer blew up on us the day after Christmas. Visited some friends, snacked a bunch, played "Apples to Apples", a really neat fun game, that several people can play. Watched Dick Clark bring in the New Year. Came home and went to bed - can't stay up that late anymore- slept in till oh my gosh 9:00 am, that does not happen often either. Did some laundry with our new washer- Karen likes it, lots of cycles and settings to choose from. We spent Fri/Sat/Sun in Asheville, with some friends, stayed up too late again.
But now we have returned to Planet Howard, and all is well, or as it should be. If you have not checked out "The Daily Dane" you really should- Watch Dane grow before your very eyes-

In all, we had a wonderful Holiday Season with our Family and Friends, oh yeah and of course, cant forget the visits from Santa .

Christmas 2008 with Planet Howard

Today started off with a nice little, quiet breakfast, just Karen and Bobby, oh yeah and the felines. We then started preparing for arrival of our children/step children with their spouses, and the grand kids all at the same time (this was a 1st in our world-what a JOY). The holiday main course: chicken dumplings-loved by all , with veggies, cheeses, crackers/chips, and Karen's now famous "Spinach Dip"(Eli somehow managed to sweet talk the leftover into a container that now resides in his sole possession). Oh and we can not forget "Cookies" for desert.

After lunch "Good Ole Santa" made his way. Santa had forgotten some small items for each last night during his trip through the Carolina's. First on the knee was Ben, Sophie, and then Dane, but we think SANTA just wanted to see the smiling faces of the wee little ones..but even Santa got a present from the little Dane, and then quick as a snap he was gone. But of course then the presents from posts north and locally were handed out and everyone was busy with the task of opening gifts, and then everyone was smiling. The kiddies were then getting a bit weary and needed to get in a nap, so off they all went. Then it was just Karen and Bobby, just as it started. Transmissions to points north were made throughout the day, with Parental Units and brothers all contacted. It was a WONDERFUL DAY!!!! (Cookies, anyone? Mmmmm...)

EAT SOME COOKIES!!!

The Cookie Project has landed in full force. First we were hit by the Butter Cookies, yum. Then the Chocolate Chip and M&M Cookies came in strong, mmmh. Following were the Pecan Balls, ohhh, then the Ginger Snaps, oh my. And lastly came the Lemon Bars, oh yeah ! Don't know if we can survive another round, of this tasty torture, but will take it on, to save our planet! Need more MILK!!!

Santa sure will get his belly full (if he hurries) when he arrives on Planet Howard- of course he's stopping here, we have been good, after all, we make the rules here :)

14 More Days till HO< HO< HO

It has been a slow moving week, but things are getting done. The kitchen has been painted(big thanks to Neal). The coffee mug collection has been restored to it's former splendor. The first wave of Butter cookies arrived , I expect to be bombarded by the NO Bake Oatmeal and Lemon Bars soon, along with an assortment of others.

The Tree is up in full dress, the 4 legged feline inhabitants have been warned. There was a temporary truce called Monday night during the "Panthers win over the Buc's"- guess even they have a thing for the Panthers!! , but are now back to their feuding ways.

Christmas cards will soon be making their way into orbit :) Mike sends Holiday wishes to all-- we have a direct line to Wally World, he sounds like he is doing well. We look forward to Interplanetary communication with other worlds and beyond.

Christmas Season 2008

It's been a peaceful time so far this week on Planet Howard, we are back to "normal" a rarely used word around here. The kitchen will be painted , thanks to brother Neal-the painter, he's coming over Friday evening and "knock it out"(payback for the time warp move a few months back). Be advised Lynyrd Skynyrd will be played during this task. So, with much care tonight, I must take down the Coffee Mug Collection. Of course in Blendermann fashion, this photo is only a sample viewing- space is limited even here. :)
We have heard rumors of "The Great Cookie Project" coming to dock soon, yum yum...
Wait, did I hear Danny say "mmmm Lemon Bars :) "
And that usually means it is time to start the Christmas Season here in our world. Guess I will be in the upper atmosphere sometime this weekend, bringing down the boxes of Christmas decor. And oh yes, I must start practicing the HO, HO, HO, verse as I will not be the "Grinch" this year, looking forward to seeing the the little ones, smile during the "Jolly Ole Guy's" visit. Hope they have all been good little girls and boys this year.
